Regarding the display problem, see the comments.
Scope of delivery:
The smartphone comes with 40W charging cable and plug, sim card slot opening tool, USB-C to headphone jack adapter and the paper stuff. Unfortunately there is no case included this time, I already ordered one of Huawei's own cases, it arrived before the smartphone.
Display and unlock:
The colour and the changes when tilting the smartphone are just great.
The display is curved to the sides, but that doesn't bother me so much, and I quickly got used to it.
The smartphone has practically no display edges, except for the notch, which is unfortunately larger than on the P20 pro, but now has several sensors for 3D face recognition. This works great, you can't look as fast as it unlocks.
It works in bright sunlight as well as in complete darkness.
The fingerprint sensor is now built into the high-resolution QHD display, which is also easy to read in bright sunlight. Once you know where the fingerprint sensor is, you can usually hit it. It is not quite as fast as the face recognition or Huawei's earlier sensors, but it is still very fast and reliable.
Charging and battery:
The 40W charger charges the smartphone up to 70% within about 30 minutes. This takes longer with the wireless charger, which charges (with Huawei's own charger) with 15W and thus faster than an iPhone on a normal power supply!
The Huawei Mate 20 pro can also charge other smartphones, watches or headphones that support wireless charging with Reverse Wireless Charging (can be activated in the battery settings), in 10 minutes the other smartphone is charged approx. 1%, the Mate 20 pro naturally loses more, as something is always lost with wireless charging. The display on time is usually between 7 and 8 hours for me. Normal users will be able to use the device for about 1.5-2 days without charging. Heavy users will only empty the device with difficulty within a day.
Software:
The software is based on the latest Android 9.0 with Huawei's EMUI 9 on top. I personally like EMUI with its many functions, such as gesture control instead of onscreen buttons (both can be activated in the settings).
Camera:
The front camera with 24 megapixels takes good selfies, but nothing special.
The 3 cameras on the back (40 normal, 8 zoom and 20 MP wide angle) take top photos, both day and night. The zoom photos and wide-angle photos also have an amazing quality. At night, the night mode helps, this illuminates about 5 seconds (handheld instead of tripod) and sometimes takes even better pictures than the auto mode. By the way, the camera software detects objects with AI and selects the best setting.
Videos are perfectly stabilised in 4k 30fps and leave nothing to be desired.
A clear buy recommendation.

Unpacked my Mate 20 Pro Twilight today. Wooowh. I have never held a more beautiful phone in my hand! It's just a shame that Huawei didn't include a silicone case (for the P20 Pro series). I'm a little afraid that I'll drop it and break it.
