ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q

The monitor has a TN panel, not IPS as stated here, and has 144Hz
I have been in possession of this gem for 6 days and I can recommend this monitor to all gamers without reservation. The colours are terrific, G-Sync works excellently and makes the games look smoother than ever, no more tearing effects like with my old 60hz monitor and also no streaks like with V-Sync. The menu is also very well and clearly laid out, although a small explanation could have been added for certain options. But that's what the manual is for. The Displayport cable is also included, which is a definite plus. The screen can be tilted, adjusted in height and also rotated, which is very practical if you are thinking of buying 2 or 3 of them... The red lighting on the stand also looks very smart. The stand also doubles as a cable channel and hides all the annoying and unsightly cables. The monitor is very expensive, but if you can afford it, you should buy it. I definitely don't regret buying it!

The PSU (Power Supply Unit) supplied is simply bad. After a good 2 months, the power supply unit supplied no longer works and I have to buy a new one for about 80 euros - and that for a monitor in the upper price segment. The same problem is also reported in various forums:

Asus does not even replace the PSU itself. I would have to send the whole monitor with PSU for repair.

My PG278Q defective after half a year. Flickering. I've been waiting a week for a warranty replacement. Asus simply says that it is currently not available. I don't get a specific delivery date at the moment. I have already called 3 times and written emails. The case has been opened. They are waiting with the defective device and can do nothing. I even wrote that they should send me alternatives.
Actually, the monitor is great. But it should still work....

At the beginning really a super device, 5 stars!
Unfortunately, after 5 months I have the same problem as many others. The picture flickers a lot (especially at 120 and 144hz) and letters are difficult to read because the picture is now very grainy.
I hope that I don't have to wait months for a replacement like others :((((
I bought an >>ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q G-Sync<< on 6 May 2015.
I was very happy with it for a long time, but it's been having problems for three months now and more and more every week. Here is a list of what I have had to deal with.
- Backlighting flickers
- G-Sync throttles games to 10FPS
- Games run at 20FPS, EVEN with G-Sync turned off (runs fine on other screens)
- G-Sync distorts images and colours pixels incorrectly. (Green stripes on edges, also on the desktop).
- Pixels are partially reversed on the left side (makes small text illegible)
- Freeze frames of up to 5 seconds
- Grey bar at the bottom of the screen
- Non-functioning heart border.
- And many more, which I have suppressed......
I had the same errors with a different graphics card and a completely different PC. I also found many people in forums and on Digitec itself who had similar problems, which is simply not OK for a monitor in this price range.
