purchased this productOnly works with PCIe bifurcation
No idea if this is general knowledge, but: the card does not work in principle in a PCIe x16 slot, but only if the board supports PCIe bifurcation. Otherwise, only an SSD is recognised.
The answer from ASUS: "The ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 is not supported on the WS X299 SAGE. A maximum of one SSD is possible per PCIE slot. => PLX vs. bifurcation".
It is a pity that this is not mentioned in the product description or the system requirements even by ASUS.Pro
- Quick
- Good cooling
Contra
- Only works with boards with PCIe bifurcation

purchased this productAlways check the technical specifications before buying.
This card only works with a compatible motherboard with bifurcation?!? My z370a would work, but not on the third PCIE slot. Since I have two graphics cards installed, this card is useless for me.

purchased this productCARE! This may not work in your PC
Beware - this probably won't work in your system. Save your money and buy one for a single M.2
Even Intel i9 processors have 24 PCI lanes.
Most decent GPUs use 16 of them - leaving 8.
On my MSI motherboard that is 1 x 4 and 4 x 1. You need 4 lanes for EACH M.2 you add - so put four M.2 in and you need 16 lanes. Unless you remove or downgrade the GPU to an x4 slot, you won't have an x16 slot for these drives.Pro
- OK for one drive
Contra
- No use for 2, 3 or 4 drives on most systems
