This product is recommended when buying a Nexus 6P. But is it even designed for Type-C? Does this adapter provide the maximum power for Type-C USB and the Nexus 6P?

This charger only supplies 1A. This is too little for the nexus. The nexus could be charged with approx. 2A.

I ordered it as an additional charger for my Nexus 5X (it was even recommended to me as an accessory). Unfortunately, it does not charge the phone! Is there a compatibility problem here with the USB Type C?
