Question about Xqisit USB Charger

I ordered it as an additional charger for my Nexus 5X (it was even recommended to me as an accessory). Unfortunately, it does not charge the phone! Is there a compatibility problem here with the USB Type C?

Actually, it should at least charge slowly. But I'm also surprised that this is recommended as an accessory and not a stronger charger with a USB-C port.
