I had exactly this problem too! Thanks for writing! The headphones are great, but they always break in the same place.
Apparently a better model but not the successor. I bought the OE500 and I find good value for money. I would not recommend the OE400 because the tonality is not so good.
The headphone shells are about 1 cm larger in diameter. However, the difference is not really noticeable.

I find the ANC on these headphones not exactly top class, but at least I can switch it on and off without any problems. So I think it's a defect in the headphones. 🖖
The headphones only ever connect to the new device when I turn off the bluetooth connection on the other devices. Then it works for me.

i have three different pairs of sunglasses (different temple sizes) I didn't notice anything wrong with the thin and medium-thin temples. With the larger ones, a little, but I didn't find it annoying because the ear cups are extremely soft.
