I am looking for a fast external hard drive to relieve the burden on my notebook in terms of storage space. What speed can I expect with a USB 3.0 connection on my notebook? Is it possible to install CAD programmes or games on this hard drive?

According to the test report, sequential read is 485 MB/s, sequential write 306 MB/s (presumably via USB 3.1, source: http://www.allround-pc.com/artikel...). USB 3.0 should be lower. In principle, applications / games can also be installed on external hard drives.
