You cannot use the DisplayPort - HDMI cable directly to connect a PS5 to a monitor as the PS5 uses HDMI as its output. For a connection between a PS5 and a monitor, you need an HDMI cable. To connect a laptop to a monitor that only has HDMI, you can use the DisplayPort - HDMI cable if your laptop has a DisplayPort connection. Make sure that the laptop supports DisplayPort Alt Mode to transmit video signals via DisplayPort.
