I suspect that the ESD310 is a newer product, as it is also "officially" classified as a portable SSD and therefore probably has a more complex controller than this USB flash drive. Both are of course based on flash memory, and apart from the speed and the USB version, I couldn't recognise any other significant differences. The market price / our purchase price is independent of these features, so it may well be that a more powerful item is cheaper at times. I would therefore also tend to opt for the ESD310 👍
Format Exfat. NTFS could possibly only be read by the iPad. Whether iPads can read USB at full speed, I don't know. Apple doesn't love USB very much.
No, you'll need to connect it to either USB A or USB C.
Hello, I had exactly the same problem - - I thought! To update the software in the car, I first tried in vain with an external hard drive. As this did not work, I bought this USB stick and was very surprised that it was also recognised as a LOCAL DISK. It is not possible to switch to CHANGE DATA CARRIER. Nevertheless, I simply put the software on it and plugged it into the car. At first it didn't seem to work, but after a short wait (approx. 10-20 seconds) the hardware responded and automatically installed the update from the stick. --> So the solution in my case is "be patient and wait a short time".
Oha here it's even 30 years... yes then it's clear I think😅

Hello, I use it exclusively on the Mac, MacOS Extended journaled with GUID partition table. Works perfectly.
