This charger is compatible with Harley Davidson motorbikes, as it is designed for 12V batteries, including lead-acid, AGM and GEL batteries, which are commonly used in motorbikes. However, it is important to check whether the motorbike has an active 12V socket or whether an adaptor is required for connection via the CAN bus.
Tecmate's OptiMate 4 (12V, 1A) is compatible with most standard battery connectors, including ceux from Drag Specialties, provided the connectors are compatible with the SAE connector used by the charger.
- The charger comes with a weatherproof battery cable and terminal set that can be connected to standard battery terminals.
- It is important to ensure that the Drag Specialties connectors match the SAE connectors of the OptiMate 4 or that a suitable adaptor is used if necessary.
The cable is included. (One with clips, one for permanent installation.)
Depends on your battery, not on your bike. The Optimate can charge lead acid (standard), AGM and gel.
In my case, the device has been in continuous operation for 5 months, according to my electricity bill 2023 this was approx. 16 (50KW) with an intact battery. I need the device to maintain the battery through the winter break.
Hello
Yes, no worries, but if the battery is completely empty, it may not recharge.
I have this model on an RS6 (Audi) which has 75Ah and everything works.
Hello
The charger is suitable for lead accumulators, but not for NiCd, NiMH, Li-lon or non-rechargeable batteries. Unfortunately, this is no longer written in the instruction manual.
