OptiMate 4 Dual Program offers two charging programs. Program 1 is for directly charging a battery, while Program 2 allows for safe, unattended charging through the CAN-bus-controlled 12V socket of a BMW motorcycle. The OptiMate 4 Dual Program tests before and after charging and can revive a 'dead' battery even at 0.5 volts.

Key features of the CAN-bus program include automatic keyless activation and ongoing maintenance until the charger is disconnected. It provides safe desulfation with low-voltage pulses, poses no risk of overcharging, and is completely safe for vehicle electronics. Additionally, it features spark suppression and is safe for long-term battery maintenance. An automatic shutdown occurs in the event of a short circuit or disconnected battery.
