Yes, the lens is designed for full-frame, but it works fine on a CROP and usually produces slightly better results. I was very happy with the lens on my EOS 70d and EOS 5d Mark II.

For the price, the autofocus is very fast and precise. However, it also depends on the camera. On my 70D or a 7D, the autofocus is very fast and good, but it doesn't come close to a 70-200mm 2.8. On a 1200D the autofocus is also noticeably worse. Therefore the question: With which camera would you use the lens?
