The mains voltage in both Switzerland and Germany is 230V. So there is no difference. However, the Schuko system is designed for 16A, whereas Swiss standard T13 plugs and sockets are designed for 10A. As long as the appliance does not consume more than 2300W, a T13 adapter is sufficient. However, if the appliance consumes more than 2300W, this T23 adapter is the correct one (up to 3680 watts). However, T23 does not fit into a T13 socket. The pins are square. However, if a T23 (or, with a transition piece, a CEE) socket is available, everything is fine.

No, this adapter is not compatible. It has a CEE 7/7 plug, which fits into an EU wall socket, but not into the C14 socket of your notebook. For C14, you need a cable with a C13 plug or a suitable adapter.

The adapter is suitable for an appliance with an Austrian (Schuko CEE 7/7) plug that you want to plug into a type 12 socket in Switzerland. It converts the Schuko plug (CEE 7/7) into a Swiss type 12 plug and is suitable for appliances up to a maximum of 10 A and 250 V. Installation is tool-free and the adapter is intended for indoor use.

You can generally use the Steffen FIX adapter (type 12, CEE 7/7) outdoors, but there are a few important considerations: - Weather resistance: The adapter is not explicitly described as weather-resistant or waterproof. It is advisable to install it in a sheltered location to avoid damage from rain or moisture. - Safety: Ensure that the adapter is not installed near water sources or in areas that could get wet regularly. This is important to avoid electric shocks or other safety hazards. If your balcony is partially covered and the adapter is installed in a sheltered location, it should be fine. However, it is always a good idea to check the manufacturer's specific instructions and local safety regulations before installation.

Are there adapters with 20 amps?

Tends to be without further info, no. An adapter from what, to what, for what? The usual household sockets have a maximum of 10A, rarely 16A. So the whole thing won't work. https://www.esti.admin.ch/inhalte... In the commercial/industrial environment, where you are more likely to encounter such needs, there are already sockets that supply >16A. Sockets of the CEE type are usually used there. However, adapters are very rarely needed there. The devices or cables that require 20A, for example, also have the necessary plug on them.

The plug is good and tight. We used the plug on a strong Kärcher and it also got a little wet from time to time. It is not exactly made for wet use but when we checked the plug it was dry inside.

This adapter is for a German device with a German plug that is to be used in Switzerland. If you have a Swiss device with a Swiss plug that you want to use in Germany, you must buy this: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/steffen-adapter-schweiz-europa-schuko-3-polig-reiseadapter-220005. It can also be used or dismantled several times.
