Can the macro keys be used as independent keys? Because I don't want to write macros but only use them as extended keys (like on the mouse e.g. the M5 etc.).

Yes, you can assign functions to the macro keys in the Steelseries Engine 3. There are a number of options, apart from a few mac/win OS commands, you can also assign simple alphabetical letters. I hope I could help you further.

I bought this keyboard a long time ago. I am completely satisfied and am now looking for a replacement. Unfortunately I can't find a keyboard with marco keys from Steelseries anymore, what happened there? Especially the software to write macros I used very often, but maybe there is something better?

I found the macro key on the Logitech keyboards quite acceptable...

I bought this keyboard a long time ago. I am completely satisfied and am now looking for a replacement. Unfortunately I can't find a keyboard with marco keys from Steelseries anymore, what happened there? Especially the software to write macros I used very often, but maybe there is something better?
