There are various protective mechanisms. For example, overvoltage protection, overheating protection, overload protection, etc.... Which one you mean exactly is a little unclear. Have a look at the specifications under "Safety" for the various power protection functions. The Prime Titanium series is the best from Seasonic. Many of these protection mechanisms will be included.

I would guess that your power supply is ok, but your fuse is a little weak. when you switch on, the current flowing may be much higher than the nominal 1 kW (google inrush current). it is probably not only your pc that is connected to the fuse, the sum of all devices is the relevant one. in many older houses you have 10A (or even weaker) fuses, from which your power supply unit draws a nominal (maximum) 4.3 A during operation and, as mentioned, possibly even more when switching on. under no circumstances replace the fuse with a stronger one!
