Hello, no, unfortunately the external switch does not have a magnet. However, the housing with the toggle switch does have double-sided adhesive tape attached. However, it is not particularly advisable to use this adhesive tape in the long term, as the switch cannot then be repositioned. On the other hand, this model is relatively cheap and the toggle switch is at least illuminated when it is switched on. I gave this model away because of the missing magnet. However, I recommend the (considerably) more expensive models from Steffen. They really leave nothing to be desired and are also extremely compact. They are available in various lengths. That is correct, the 5 connections here refer to the normal power connections, not USB.

I'm afraid I don't really know what you want to find out. Multiple socket strips with overvoltage protection can reduce voltage peaks so that the connected devices are not damaged. This outlet has such an overvoltage protection. Unfortunately, I could not find detailed information about the type of overvoltage protection.
