I bought the (deliberately more expensive) cable to be able to connect the ASUS ZenScreen MB166C (without having to stow the long USBC<>C cable supplied on the table). Surprisingly, this does not work, I get the error message "The display connection may be restricted. ..." Which (short) cable is suitable for the external monitor mentioned above? Thanks for your help.

You need a Thunderbolt cable for this. They have the required transmission performance. A suitable cable would be this: OWC Thunderbolt 4 - USB-C (0.30 m, USB 4.0)

I have an additional screen for my laptop. Devices are connected with a USB-C cable. The screen is supplied with power via the USB-C cable. Both devices are brand ASUS. The original cable approx. 100 cm. is very stiff and is very difficult to position. I would like to buy a new cable that is as flexible as possible. What do I need to ensure that it is suitable for data and power at the same time? Which product would be recommended in my case? Thank you very much for your feedback!

This cable won't work for connecting a screen. For that you need a cable that supports DP alt-mode. These kind of cables are usually thicker and stiffer because of the amount of data they have to support. The cable here has very slow data transfers and is suitable mostly for charging devices.
