Yeah, it does, don't worry.
Source: MediaMarkt review "I bought the memory card because the internal memory of the Nintendo Switch Lite was too small at 32GB. It's enough for big games. So I haven't noticed or jerks yet. Games load just as fast as games from a cartridge. I have Pokemon Shining Diamond and Pokemon Shield and it's running great. It's also great that the blue 400GB memory card fits my blue Nintendo Switch Lite. :)"
This microSDXC UHS-I memory card (256GB, U3) is not compatible with Nintendo Switch 2, which requires microSD Express cards to operate. Conventional microSD cards, even fast ones, are not recognised by the Switch 2 for storing games or data, only for viewing screenshots or videos. The Switch 2 will therefore require a microSD Express card.
The Nintendo Switch Card (256 GB, microSDXC, U3, UHS-I) from SanDisk is not compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2. microSD Express cards are required for the Switch 2, which offer significantly higher speeds and have been specially developed for the new console. Standard microSD cards such as these do not work with the Switch 2 and can limit the performance of the new console or cannot be used at all.
Normal microSD cards can also be used for the Switch; they do not have to be a special Nintendo Switch microSD. A normal microSD is also much cheaper.
I would check whether the microSD card can be read on a computer, for example, if possible, or otherwise just return it and buy another card, e.g. this one also works:
Transcend High Endurance (microSDXC, 256 GB, U3, UHS-I)
Hello, yes, that's what the memory card is for. The Switch has two slots, one for the games and a second tiny one for expanding the internal memory with a mircoSD card.
No, this information has nothing to do with speed.
The micro first describes the size.
So what you want to know is what the difference is between SD or SDHC and SDXC. That is relatively simple, it has to do with the maximum memory size.
SDHC cards can be up to 32GB.
SDXC can be up to 2TB.
