The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) supports both technologies, but in different ways: - The monitor is G-Sync compatible, which means it can work with NVIDIA graphics cards to avoid image judder and tearing. - In addition, the monitor also supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which is a Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology from AMD that offers similar benefits to G-Sync, especially for users with AMD graphics cards. This means that the monitor is compatible with both NVIDIA graphics cards (via G-Sync compatibility) and AMD graphics cards (via FreeSync Premium Pro).
Automatically generated from the .Hello Mimicry, To mount the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 - G80SD (32", 3840 x 2160 pixels) on the wall, you will need a VESA-compatible wall mount, as the monitor supports a VESA mounting interface. According to the monitor's specifications, the VESA dimension is 100 x 100 mm. Steps for choosing the right wall mount: Check VESA compatibility: Select a wall mount that supports the VESA dimension 100 x 100 mm. This is standard for most wall mounts for monitors of this size. Note the weight: The Odyssey OLED G8 weighs approximately 8.5 kg (with stand, the weight without stand may be slightly less). Make sure that the wall mount is designed for a weight of at least 8.5 kg. Type of mount: Consider whether you want a fixed, tilting, swivelling or fully movable mount: Fixed bracket: For stable, space-saving mounting directly on the wall. Tilting mount: Allows you to tilt the monitor for better viewing angles. Full-motion mount: Offers maximum flexibility with pan and tilt function. Adapter: As a rule, you do not need an additional adapter for the Odyssey OLED G8 as the VESA mounting interface is directly integrated. However, if your monitor does not have exposed VESA holes (e.g. due to a special cover), check the user manual to see if a cover needs to be removed. In rare cases, specific adapters may be required for certain mounts, but this is unlikely with standard VESA mounts. Recommended wall mounts: Neomount's FPMA-D550: An affordable desk and wall mount that supports 100 x 100 mm VESA and is suitable for monitors up to 32". Chief MTA1U Medium Fusion: A tiltable wall mount that is suitable for monitors up to 55" and supports VESA 100 x 100 mm. Vogel's WALL 3245: A fully movable wall mount suitable for monitors up to 32" and 15 kg, with VESA 100 x 100 mm. Tips: Check mounting: Make sure the wall can support the mount and the weight of the monitor (e.g. concrete wall vs. drywall). Cable management: Make sure that the mount leaves enough space for the connections (HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, USB hub), as the monitor offers many connection options. Installation: Follow the monitor's instructions to safely remove the stand if this is necessary for installation. If you have a specific mount in mind or are unsure if an adapter is needed, please let me know more details (e.g. model of mount or photos of the back of the monitor). I hope this helps you! Good luck with the installation!
Hello, You can't get more than 120Hz with an hdmi 2.1 cable. To get my 240Hz in 4K you have to use the Displayport cable. I have this configuration and it works perfectly.
Yes, it can do that. I'm absolutely satisfied.
Samsung provides a few tips on this on its website. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00086622/ I would compare these tips with other sites that describe OLED screen cleaning.
I use this arm and I don't have any problems. Arctic X1-3D (Tables, 40")
yes A short one
Hi, there is no jack connection on my G80SD. According to the instructions, speakers can only be connected via USB, HDMI (ARC) or Bluetooth
There is an HDMI adapter for Apple with which you can connect your Mac to your monitor via an adapter. Lg
Hi Manuel, I haven't tested it myself yet, but according to the instructions (page 111), sound output via Bluetooth is possible.
Yes, the warranty for this model also includes protection against burn-in, similar to the warranty terms of Alienware and MSI. If there is a problem with burn-in, Samsung will also replace the panel.
No idea was a birthday present for my daughter
Not sure what you are looking for exactly. This monitor was on discount for 899 when I bought it last week on Digitec. There are multiple monitors (4+) that offer 4K 160/ 240 FPS gaming. I would recommend a strategy of making a list of monitors which match characteristics you care for and keep on check list for latest prices and discounts of comparable models if you want a good deal. Here is website I quickly found that seems to list some of the monitor grouped by resolution/ fps (hopefully correct): https://www.displayninja.com/best-oled-monitor/ Some monitors might not be there due to slightly different characteristics from groups made as I see new M9 II missing (I assume due to 160 fps not 165 fps) Also check Digitec Articles, there are many excellent reviews on high end monitors mostly by Samuel Buchmann https://www.digitec.ch/en/magazine?filter=Topic%3D44
Hello, Unfortunately, there's no Aux audio out on the monitor. If you are using a console, you can connect a sound system via USB to the console itself. Note that there are built in speakers in the monitor too. The monitor has HDMI 2.1 so you can have 4k@120Hz and HDR.
