The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 is normally supplied with a CR2032 battery. This battery is included in the scope of delivery to enable immediate use of the tracker.
The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 is compatible with Samsung devices that use Android 9.0 or higher and have at least 3 GB RAM. The range of the SmartTag2 is up to 120 metres via Bluetooth. For precise localisation over longer distances, it uses the SmartThings Find network, which only works with Samsung devices.
The technical functions of both models are identical. The price difference is due to the fact that we purchase them from two different suppliers.
The year indicated is the year in which we added the product to our database.
Yes, it works with the Samsung Galaxy S23. Compatibility is ensured via Bluetooth on Galaxy smartphones running Android 9.0 or later with at least 3GB of RAM, and the SmartThings application. For advanced UWB functions such as precise location in augmented reality, check whether your S23 model supports UWB (for example, the S23 Ultra is confirmed compatible).
Yes, it works with the Galaxy Note 10+. The Galaxy Note 10+ is a Samsung smartphone running Android 9.0 or later with at least 3GB of RAM, which meets compatibility requirements via the SmartThings app. Basic features like Bluetooth tracking are supported, but advanced options like UWB and AR Find often require Android 11 or specific models.
Yes, it works with the Galaxy S23 via Bluetooth on Android 9 or later with the SmartThings app. For accurate UWB location, this requires a compatible model like the S23 Ultra or S23+, but the standard S23 is supported in Bluetooth up to 120 metres.

Hello,
there are some restrictions for devices with a Samsung Account child account, this is one of them. Please try to connect the Galaxy SmartTag2 to a smartphone with a Samsung account of an adult instead.

Short answer: No - this device does not show your cat's location in continuous real time; it uses Bluetooth/SmartThings-Find, not in-built GPS.
Explanation: The tracker works primarily via Bluetooth (up to ~120 m range) and reports its location via the SmartThings Find network when another Galaxy device within range forwards the signal.
- Within Bluetooth range, you can locate the cat directly and play a sound; the app shows the approximate position on the map.
- As soon as the tag is outside your Bluetooth range, localisation is only possible if a third-party Samsung device detects the signal and transmits the position via SmartThings; this is selective and not continuous "live GPS".
- The device does not have GPS and therefore does not offer permanent real-time tracking like specialised GPS pet trackers with mobile communications (e.g. with SIM/4G).
If you absolutely need continuous real-time tracking, a GPS tracker with cellular reception is a more suitable choice; if you are okay with occasional location updates via the Galaxy network and local Bluetooth search, this device will do the trick.
I'm pretty sure about this information; the manufacturer and comparison sources confirm that there is no GPS built in and SmartThings/Bluetooth network is used for tracking.
Officially only works on samsung. There are, however, github projects to make it work on all Android devices (https://github.com/KieronQuin...) not personally tested on the other hand.
The localisation works very well and is accurate. The app is from Samsung and is called Smart Things. If you can install this app, the prerequisite is met. I cannot answer directly whether the S10+ is compatible with the tag.
The range of 120 metres refers to the maximum Bluetooth connection between the tracker and your smartphone. The tracker can be located directly within this range.
The tracker works via Samsung's SmartThings Find network to locate you worldwide, for example your suitcase when travelling. This uses millions of Samsung devices worldwide, which serve anonymously and securely as a search network, to determine the location of your tracker even outside of Bluetooth range. This allows you to locate your suitcase even when it is not in the immediate vicinity of your smartphone.
The difference lies in the regional version. The version ending in GWW is intended for the international market, GEU for the European market. Both are technically identical. In this case, we recommend the cheaper product. :)
The tracker can only be connected to one Samsung account at a time, which is managed via the SmartThings app. Location access by multiple mobiles at the same time is not directly provided. However, multiple SmartTags can be managed with a single smartphone, but sharing a single tag with multiple mobiles for location tracking is not possible by default.
You cannot find a Galaxy SmartTag2 if it is not activated, as the device needs to be configured and linked to an account via the SmartThings app to work properly. If you still have the package, you can activate it by following the included instructions and using the SmartThings app to configure it and start tracking.
This is not a question for users in Germany! This is about the offers from Galaxus.ch.
In my opinion, the two suppliers are offering the same devices. The cheaper offer comes from Galaxus.ch itself, the more expensive one from a third-party supplier who, for some unknown reason, offers the set on the Galaxus platform at a much higher price...

Hello,
If an owner of the Galaxy SmartTag2 has activated the "Lost" mode, you can use NFC Scan to scan any stored contact details. This allows you to contact the other person in the event of loss.
