I'm not completely certain about this answer. The information I have does not fully address whether the «USB 2.0 to PS/2» converter is active or passive. Typically, adapters that convert from USB to PS/2 are active because they need to translate the USB protocol to the PS/2 protocol, which is not directly compatible. However, without specific details from the manufacturer, it's difficult to confirm this for the Roline product. You might want to check the manufacturer's documentation or contact their support for more precise information.

I can't say anything specific about it. I use this converter to connect the network cable from the router to a USB plug because my network plug has a loose contact somehow. It undoubtedly doesn't need much power, but it works fine.
