The AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR lens is compatible with the Nikon D5600, which is similar to the D5600. However, to confirm specific compatibility with the Nikon 5600, it is important to check whether the '5600' model is an existing Nikon model, as current models include the D5600. If you are referring to the D5600, then yes, this lens is compatible with that model.

Yes, when you attach the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR lens to a Nikon D7500 (a DX format camera), the crop factor of 1.5x is applied. This means that the effective focal length range is 300-750mm instead of 200-500mm on an FX format camera.

I have used the lens with a 3rd party 1.4x teleconverter and it works. So it should also work with the Nikon. But the loss of quality is noticeable. In my opinion, the quality is better if you work without the converter and then edit the images (Photoshop or similar). With the N500 it works perfectly

The lens can be used with a Nikon DSLR with APS-C sensor (DX). It should be noted, however, that due to the shorter sensor distance, the focal length of the lens must be converted. Thus, the 200-500 mm on a full-frame camera with the D7200 corresponds to a 300-750 mm lens. According to Nikon, both autofocus and aperture should be controllable by the camera.

what about compatibility with a Nikon D300?

Helpful answer

The lens is designed for full-frame cameras, but the telephoto range is even more impressive due to the crop factor for DX cameras. I think it is compatible with all Nikon DSLR cameras. It even works with 1.4x teleconverter on my ancient D3000.

Will this lens fit the D7200?

In principle this works, but the D7200 is a DX camera (smaller sensor), which means that the 200-500 becomes a 300-750.
