Netgear AirCard 790
I have just tested it. You do not have to select the carrier that the card dials in to as the APN, but you must create one for knowroaming. APN: knowroaming otherwise everything empty. Then it works immediately. I cannot say whether and how it works with the data packages (Unlimited Data). But I think that you first have to order this on the iPhone via the app and then restart the modem. Then it should possibly work.
As you can see from the specifications under "Features", this modem has an external antenna connection.
The battery is removable, but unfortunately we don't have it in our range.
That may well be. However, this does not have anything to do directly with this device. Sunrise and others recognise when a hotspot is activated. If your provider throttles the data rate when a hotspot is activated, it does this on all devices, including mobile phones. The best thing to do is to call Sunrise (have fun dialling through). I had taken out a subscription with Sunrise which was only activated for internet use. It was throttled when "hotspotting". Fortunately I was able to cancel it because I told them what I wanted to use the simcard for. I then took out a subscription with yallo. PS: If you often want to use the battery, buy a different device. It serves its purpose well when plugged into a socket or directly into the PC. Sincerely
This device works directly with 4G cellular. You have to see the maximum speed of your telephone subscription. But if you only have 21mb and 8mb you can't get more than that. By having an antenna the reception of the signal will be better but not the speed unfortunately. For that you have to change your subscription
I didn't try it out as I found the reception to be good without the additional antenna. The compatible antenna is listed on the product page: Netgear Antenna für Aircard 4G Modems (MIMO Antenna)
This is the maximum speed supported in 4G. But if the operator limits the speed to 21Mbps, that will be the maximum. The Yallo subscriptions allow 250Mbps on their site, very fast and of course it depends on the network reception where you are ;-)
But it works very well. I also use it like this
Hello The reception is the same, but the 810 has 600MB and the 790 only 300. Greetings
If the plug fits, it works and will certainly bring a profit. I have successfully used an external antenna bought from digitec on the train. However, it needs a signal that can be amplified - unfortunately this is often not available from Singen in the direction of Stuttgart....
Yes, you can also use a Yallo prepaid sim card.
On my trip to Australia, a prepaid sim card from Telstra worked without any problems.
Works with any card. You may have to unlock the SIM card in your mobile phone first (code is sent to your device) and then insert it into the device. I have only had good experiences with this.
What do you mean by "without data package"? The Sunrise Mobile internet unlimited is designed for just such hotspots and has unlimited data up to 300Mbit. Even 1GB data roaming per month is included (Region 1, Europe and some other countries, see link for details). https://www.sunrise.ch/medias/sys_master/Factsheets/Factsheets/h2f/hf0/8827194966046/Factsheet-Mobile-internet-unlimited-DE.pdf To answer the question: yes, of course - it works with this subscription.
Yes, that is possible. I use the device permanently in the office as a private WLAN.
We do not recommend this type of device for your intended use. The specifications are identical, except for the number of possible connections, i.e. 15 for the Netgear modem and 10 for the Huawei.
Yes, you can switch off the display of SSID and password in the settings.
Hello Moridenner! The device can receive SMS, you can read them on the display :-)
List of supported countries and Internet providers is given here: www.NETGEAR.com/AC790_carriers The USA is missing.
I don't know if it works, but I will get it soon: Netgear MIMO Antenna for Aircard 4G Modems (WLAN Antenna) LG Ivan
Helo; Unfortunately, I can't answer this question, because I haven't tested like this. You can connect everything, whether it works properly or not, you have to try it. I think you can be best satisfied with the WLAN function.
