The set comes w two brushes - SBD 365-3 standard brush with switch for hard floor and carpet, and the SBB 400-3 parquet brush. Between these two it works very well for both carpet and hardwood. Miele also sells a turbo brush STB 305-3 for intensive carpet cleaning but I have not tried it. The standard brush included w the kit works well for normal carpet cleaning. There is also a cat and dog kit w the turbo brush instead of the parquet brush, and you can buy all the brushes separately as well. Hope this helps.
