Unfortunately, it stopped working for me some time ago. I don't remember what the dongle looked like.
If the dongle has an orange sign (a kind of star) on it, it can be used with different devices, otherwise not. I can't judge the new purchase. Today I have a K120 keyboard and an M220 mouse, alse nothing exciting, but practical and good.

No, you don't have to throw away the mouse. You can buy the dongles separately, I saw them at the big A with the search "Logitech Usb Dongle".
No, the M220 only works with the nano receiver. If you need a silent mouse with Bluetooth, take a look at the M590 from Logitech. It works via Bluetooth as well as via the nano receiver.

Look in the battery compartment. Normally the receivers are stored there.
