JVC KD-X451DBT incl. DAB antenna
No, I don't think this is normal. When I ordered, I received an antenna.
Normally, after the first connection, the demo mode appears as soon as the unit is switched on. Switch the unit off and on again and it is gone. The unit may be connected incorrectly, i.e. when you switch off the ignition, the unit loses power and then restarts in demo mode. Make sure that the continuous current is connected to the correct cable of the unit. The continuous current is also needed so that the stored transmitters are not lost.
Hello D.r.tomlinson, I also bought this radio. You have a so-called ISO connection as standard with this radio. Now it depends on what kind of connector your car has. Many car manufacturers have their own connectors, so you have to put an adapter cable in between. Since you previously had a JVC radio, it could be that it does not have an ISO connection. This means that it will fit your car, but not your new radio. Unfortunately, many connectors look very similar. HAMA offers the appropriate adapter plug for practically every vehicle. I hope I have helped you a little with this answer.
No, this unit does not have a cinch connection.
For me, there was no problem with the dab+ installation. But you can't just install the antenna. You also have to install an amplifier, which has to be bought separately. It's best to go to a garage that installs such things. It doesn't cost much.
Hello Marcel I installed the unit about three weeks ago. I'm not 100 % sure, but the unit doesn't have an aerial connection for a house aerial. However, I am not aware that any car radio has a connection for the house aerial. It is also questionable whether the device can be used for DAB+ reception. But I don't know enough about that. In the car, at least, part of the DAB+ antenna must be connected to the metal of the car body.
Maybe this can help: https://eu.jvc.com/mobile-entertainment/audio-receivers/KD-X451DBT/
Yes, it is available.
The AUX connection in the front is basically designed as a music source, so you cannot send music from the radio to a Bluetooth speaker.

Yes it does, but it is something proprietary to JVC. The manual gives information about it. An adapter is probably still needed, depending on the vehicle.
Yes, you can.
Should fit without an adapter, otherwise they are available from Mercedes.
It has a regular Antenna socket for the classic car antenna. The socket is external -> will not be too short like it could be for a device without CD player. This is for the FM radio. DAB+ has an extra socket. There is an active antenna included with this radio. The Antenna is a foil that needs to be put on the front window. How to find a place where to hide the wire for the antenna depends on your car and how good you want to hide it.
With the dab+ antenna you can only receive digital signals, the normal antenna should already be in the car. Pay attention to the installation of the dab+ antenna.
Sorry. My husband has not yet been able to install the radio. That's why I can't answer the question.
