I can't say anything about the sound quality because I don't know the Airpods. For my taste, the quality and bass are great! I wear them from time to time at work and the battery lasts 5 hours (or more) at medium volume without any problems. I have never used them empty, so I can't say how much longer they last than 5 hours. The lunch break (1h) is enough to fully charge the buds again. I charge the case about 1 to 2 times a week.
