Questions about Huawei P40 Pro

When is the P40 Pro+ available?

I would buy P 40 Pro if it had GMS. Installing GMS myself is too complicated for me at 75. Besides, the risk of breaking the expensive part is too great for me. I would pay an extra CHF 100 if I could take over the device with the GMS already installed. Can someone at Digitec do this for me? Dr Dolf Stockhausen, Hergiswil

I have been using the P40 pro for almost 3 weeks now on a daily basis. From an aesthetic point of view. It is beautiful and well proportioned, but in the end all edge-less smartphones look the same... There is an invisible fingerprint sensor under the screen which also acts as a flash when taking a selfie (very good idea). The smartphone fits well in the hand and comes with a protection on the front glass, to the touch the protection is soft and offers a slight resistance, it's strange at first, but remains pleasant (in the worst case nothing prevents to remove the protection or to replace it). On the back we can see the famous 3 Leica cameras, which allow you to take wide angle pictures up to a 50x zoom. Speaking of photos, the quality is very very good and flattering, if you know how to frame, it's hard to take bad pictures, and the editing tools offered are more than enough. Perfect for an everyday camera. On first use, it offers to make a clone of your old phone. From a hardware point of view it is 10/10. It is very responsive, turns on in no time, applications launch without any latency. My wife bought the Galasy S20+ a few days ago, I personally prefer the Huawei P40 pro. The battery holds the charge well and with the same usage it lasts much longer than on the Galaxy S20+. There are no more Google services, which is confusing at first. However Huawei offers two tools by default to search and install Apps:. Huawei Gallery, which is a kind of Google play, made and maintained by Huawei and allows to install apps that are verified (quality and security). There is also Petal search, it's an application that will somehow find you applications and pick them up from everywhere (security risk ? maybe). Finally, Aurora Store apk download Aurora Store is an interface that allows you to install applications that are present in Google Play. With it you have access to ALL Google Play applications, but some apps even installed will simply not work, because the Google Service layer is missing. To buy this smartphone or not? Technologically it is superior to most smartphones, however, for some the lack of Google service could be a serious handicap. I miss my Huawei Mate 20 lite, much uglier, much slower, but with google services... Buying the P40 Pro is a gamble: we have a very good product that should get even better over time. It's with this product and the efforts that will be made to attract developers that we'll see if Huawei will win its bet against the US or if it will be knocked out by the Boycott. In the meantime, in this period, Huawei is offering gifts: 6 months of free music and 50G cloud storage for 12 months are offered to P40 pro owners :-) .

Can you explain to me why the bundle with the "free" Huawei Watch GT2 costs 999.-, but the mobile phone is available separately for 954.-? So the watch isn't really free, it's just sold at a lower price... Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My device only charges up to approx. 80%. is this normal? (even if the 256 GB nano chip is out).

Can you tell me if there are any apps that are currently having problems or not working? Are the following apps working? ZKB Banking, Gmail, Whatsapp? What about the official Google Apps, like Google Calendar or Gmail?

HELP: how do I solve the problem without Google services? can I get Swiss apps on it? e.g. TWINT, SWISS, SBB, Ricardo, ebanking Thurgauer Kantonalbank? Migros, Coop? Helsana? Cembra? SwissBankers? Digitec ;) or other apps like Teams, Airbnb, Polarstepas, Booking.com ? Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Spotify are available through a few channels, yes? Youtoube still only in the browser? Outlook? Microsoft To Do? so far i just haven't found a worthy phone in comparison, samsung galaxy s22 plus, one plus 9-10 pro, xiaomi mi 11 pro, oppo find x3/5 pro etc. unfortunately as far as the camera in the zoom function is concerned worse than my current P30 pro! can't find a replacement where you can take top photos of animals / moon etc. from a distance at least as well...all new flagship phones rely on ultra angles and the zoom is not nearly as good as my "old" p30 pro, must wait until there is another solution somehow :(

I think Spotify, Instagram and Facebook can be accessed from several corners, and YouTube is still only available in the browser... For me, it's a disaster. I don't want to leave Huawei because of the good zoom function of the camera, which allows me to take top photos of animals from a distance or of the moon, and because it's convincing everywhere else. unfortunately i haven't found a worthy other phone yet, samsung galaxy s 22 plus, onePlus 10pro, oppo find x3 pro , xiaomi mi 11 pro etc. just can't keep up! the new flagship phones all rely on ultra angles and the zoom isn't nearly as good as on my "old" P30 pro.... Quick question. Is the P40pro only 5G capable for Sunrise networks?! Because I have a Swisscom subscription that would be 5G capable. I really hope that it also supports 5G networks for Swisscom users, because otherwise only Sunrise users will benefit from 5G, and Salt and Swisscom users won't have any of it.

Hi all, does anyone have the P40 pro with a "Yallo subscription incl. 5G option" and has 5G reception ? I don't get 5G reception. Same phone, same location, no problem with Swisscom. So it can only be Yallo or Sunrise. The 5G antenna is about 50m away.

Will 5G and VoLTE work with Swisscom?

What about apps that are used exclusively or mainly in Switzerland? I'm thinking of eBanking, PeakFinder, SBB Mobile, SRF Sport, Swiss Map, SwissCovid and many others. Can these apps be obtained from other stores?
