Hey!
Smart Charge has been added to EMUI 9.1 and later versions and is enabled by default. Using your phone in this mode for an extended period of time while charging or charging your phone for an extended period of time may trigger the Smart Charge control. Navigate to Settings > Battery > More battery settings and check if the Smart Charge switch is available at the bottom. If it is, the Smart Charge function is supported; otherwise, the function is not supported.
The Smart Charge function can learn your charging habits and intelligently control charging to extend battery life. It does not indicate that the device or battery is defective.
To see if your phone has stopped charging because Smart Charge is enabled, navigate to Settings > Battery. There, check if Smart Charge Enabled is displayed (see the figure below). If this is the case, the phone is no longer charging because Smart Charge is activated. If this is not the case, charging does not stop because of Smart Charge.
The solution would be:
1. for longer battery life, it is recommended to leave Smart Charge enabled and disconnect the charger immediately when the battery is fully charged.
2. you can disable Smart Charge to fully charge your phone by navigating to Settings > Battery > More battery settings > Smart Charge.
If you leave Smart Charge enabled, avoid charging for a long period of time. The system will automatically stop charging and your phone will be fully charged.
