Use yes, but it is not ideal. The outer dimensions are practically identical, but the resolution is different. 1920x1200 for the i and 1920x1018 for the m.

You don't need that. The Thunderbolt port on your MacBook still supports Thunderbolt digital video output. No, the speaker (HP LCD Speaker Bar) definitely does not fit the HP Elite E243i. The mounting is completely different. On the E243i, a rubber lip must be removed from underneath the screen frame. Only then can the speaker bar be hooked in and anchored using the 2 hooks.
