Is it correct that I need a Thunderbolt to Displayport adapter to use this monitor with a MacBook Air (13-inch, early 2015)? Which one is best for this?

You don't need that. The Thunderbolt port on your MacBook still supports Thunderbolt digital video output. Just plug in a mini display port cable on one side and a regular display port on the other and it works.
