The Topo Schweiz version contains the official topographic map for Switzerland. I recommend to use the free OpenStreetMap maps to save money though.

From my point of view, it is completely sufficient. The base map is also very detailed today. Otherwise, there is the Swiss TOPO 50k for rather little money (promotion approx. CHF 50). It's good for following routes. I haven't needed the feature of navigating to a specific address with the Garmin for at least the last 10 years.
You can now connect the app Komoot with the Edge... There you can plan hiking and biking and send it directly to your device. Maybe that will help you decide. Greetings
