Using Garmin Express on a computer, it is possible to change the maps installed free of charge for those of other continents, for example Routable Cycle map of North America. Note that the Solar version contains twice as much space and can load several regions at the same time. So the difference in price is due to the hardware and not to the availability of the data.

Yes, the bracket is supplied. There's a bracket that attaches to the handlebars and a bracket for the stem with elastic bands.
Yes it must be connected so that you can control music, e.g. via Bluetooth.
The map functions and navigation are accurate and reliable even in the forest and on uneven terrain. There are also special MTB functions, such as the grit and flow measurement sensor, which gives you information about the terrain and the difficulty of the route.

Have only used the Garmin once. On this bike tour the maps were very accurate. Was surprised that a warning even appeared on sharper bends. Tip-top satisfied
