On gravel or road racers, I think a cadence sensor is essential. I also have a cadence sensor on my MTB. It happens less often with the MTB that I notice it's better to ride in an easier gear thanks to this sensor. The watt sensors are currently far too expensive for me, blatantly expensive stuff! I've already put such posh-posh pedals in my shopping basket several times and then thrown them out again. Unfortunately, I can't have a qualified opinion on this.
The HRM-Dual chest belt is compatible and is also read by your Edge 1040 device. You can connect it via ANT+ or Bluetooth Low Energy, as you already do with your Edge 1030. Simply bring your device within 3 metres of the sensor for the first pairing, after which they will automatically recognise each other.
As a set price does not automatically adjust to the individual prices, it can happen that the set price is higher after a reduction in the individual price than if the individual items are ordered separately.
Hello,
I'm not sure I understand your question.
What is the central bar? and 605mm in diameter, that seems huge to me!
Could you be more specific?

The attachment of the Garmin Edge 1040 to a recumbent bike with a centre bar of approx. 35 mm diameter depends on the accessories supplied. As standard, the mounts are suitable for bikes with a diameter of approximately 31.8 mm to 35 mm. If the centre bar measures exactly 35 mm, it might fit, but it is advisable to check the specific dimensions of the supplied bracket or use a suitable extension or adapter if necessary.
Good morning. You will receive the chest strap in a bundle. In the individual package you will receive the device and the corresponding charging cable.
Using Garmin Express on a computer, it is possible to change the maps installed free of charge for those of other continents, for example Routable Cycle map of North America. Note that the Solar version contains twice as much space and can load several regions at the same time. So the difference in price is due to the hardware and not to the availability of the data.
The map functions and navigation are accurate and reliable even in the forest and on uneven terrain. There are also special MTB functions, such as the grit and flow measurement sensor, which gives you information about the terrain and the difficulty of the route.
Have only used the Garmin once. On this bike tour the maps were very accurate. Was surprised that a warning even appeared on sharper bends. Tip-top satisfied
