The drawer into which the printed pages go is automatically extended during the printing process. Can this be deactivated (we want to place the printer in a cabinet)?

Yes, you can deactivate the automatic tray extension. Under "Settings" - "General Settings" - "Printer Settings" there is an item (quite far down) "Output Tray Auto Extension", which you can switch on or off. (Sorry - I have set everything in English). So yes, you can disable the extension.

Are colour prints on normal A4 paper faded and with little colour, or do they have a quality comparable to a normal laser or inkjet printer? I have had the opportunity to look at an Hp smarttank but the result is not the best, the colour is very dull. Thank you.

The colours are certainly somewhat paler than on a laser printer or an inkjet printer that specialises in photo printing on photo paper. But the prints look good on photo paper.
