Both the camera and microphone work perfectly for me. I have already attended various video conferences via ZOOM or SKYPE without ever having any problems. No need to install drivers: DICOTA connected to the PC via USB and off it went. Is it due to the software you are using?
Not as far as I know. But you can zoom with software, but the image quality will be limited.

have not tested the WebCam under Linux ... only Windows I have a VirtualMachine with Linux but I don't think it's the same as a Native/First OS Linux installation.

You can actually set which microphone you want to use with any software, e.g. even with Windows you can set your default microphone to your headset in the settings and then transmit an image with the camera.
The webcam and microphone are great, so they're probably just as good.
