The Zenbook Pro 15 has a GTX1050 installed, which can run at 144 Hz in principle. But this is a mid-range graphics card, so you will only be able to run current games with 144 Hz at low resolutions - if at all. And whether you have any advantage with PowerPoint at 144 Hz, I dare to doubt.
The cable works.
I have not tested the specific combination, but so far the cable has worked with all laptops (HP, Apple, Lenovo) on my Asus ProArt as well as on various HP displays. USB-C to DisplayPort is largely foolproof unless you use extreme resolutions or frequency rates.
No, it has a DisplayPort connector and is not compatible with HDMI. However, DisplayPort is also available on many monitors.
If your monitor has a DisplayPort socket (labelled DP), the cable can be plugged into the monitor. Otherwise you have to look for another cable.
