My screen is old and only has a hdmi connection, usb-c did not exist at that time. That's why I couldn't use a usb-c to usb-c cable. That it should work from the laptop via usb-c to the screen hdmi I can therefore confirm from my own experience, in the other direction, however, I can not confirm, but it would surprise me exxxtremely if not... are we already so far that screens no longer have hdmi connections? 😅

Good day, I have a gaming monitor from Asus (1440p, 144hz) to be connected alternately to my gaming PC and my MbP. If I connect the MbP to the gaming monitor via this cable, I should achieve 60hz on 1440p, or? Greetings

The cable only goes from USB-C to HDMI monitor. You're describing the opposite way, which doesn't work.
