Yes, the card supports Dolby and DTS encoding for the optical output and can therefore transmit 5.1 audio digitally. However, the separate control of each speaker in Premiere Pro depends on the configuration of your 5.1 system and the software settings, not on the sound card itself. You would have to configure the output device as 5.1 in Premiere Pro and possibly also make the corresponding configuration in the Windows sound settings.

Yes goes. The PCI Express standard is backwards compatible. This means that a card with x4 also fits into one for x8 and x16 slots and then simply uses correspondingly fewer of the lanes available there.

Hello Carsten, I have connected the sound card to the PCI slot. The sound card is really great! Many functions. I use the PC Speakers 5.1 from Logotec Z607 Surround System and it's a real hit. As already mentioned, you can change various functions such as gaming, music, cinema, concert, etc. I hope to have served..Lg Mani

No, BUT: The card uses the technical successor of CMSS 3D, the so-called "BlasterX Acoustic Engine", which achieves the same effect. If a game already has a 3D surround emulator, I would switch it off. - Otherwise the whole thing sounds more irritating than useful. - But I am glad to have it.

Hello The 4Pol. Power connection is only needed for the LED illumination - the board also works without the power connection... It just stays dark ;-)

The sound card has an output for headphones and an input for a microphone, the easiest thing would probably be to use a splitter like this one. (mobile headset adapter) Lindy PC adapter cable (stereo, headset adapter) I did not see that a headset has to work with only one connector, neither in the product description nor in the instruction manual. I therefore assume that both only work on the respective connectors marked for them.

The driver is totally crap, the software is pure crap. Every time they upgrade Creative does something worse, they can't get their card to work! My advice: ASUS sound cards, Creative for me is NEVER again!

Hello, still the owner of an older SB card, but curious: On the DE website, see https://de.creative.com/p..., it can be seen from a picture of the card that the rear aperture is only labelled "Optical OUT". Likewise, in the "Technical Data" section it mentions, among other things, "...Input options (main unit)...1 optical TOSLINK output...". From my own experience, I can only say that Creative Sound Blaster Z (PCI-E x1) has both an optical input and an optical output; perhaps that would be an alternative...
