I have a relatively large music collection and have read/seen in a review that the player searches the entire memory for new music every time it starts. Is this really the case? And if so, - how long does it take? - Is it possible to deactivate this functionality in the settings and perform the search for new files manually? Thank you very much for any advice.

I have used about a third of the memory. For me, starting up takes about 7 seconds, of which searching the memory for new music takes about 2 seconds. I don't know if you could deactivate the automatic search; I consider the time loss to be so small that I haven't thought about it. Incidentally, the sound quality of the Cowon Plenue R is such a pleasure that I can only recommend it.

My music files (mp3 or m4a) are on an external hard disk to a MacBook Pro. Until now, I synchronised the music with iTunes (new music app) to a Mac iPod classic. How can I store my music files in a structured way on the Cowon Plenue R? Is there any organisation software for this? I assume iTunes (music app) does not work for this.

Hello too :-) I'm not sure what you mean by "tuner", but if you mean an integrated amp, the answer is yes. However, it's not an interchangeable amp like the FiiO X7. Also beware that this device is not really usable as a DAC in conjunction with a stereo system, since the operating system restricts its output; it is therefore only good as a player with headphones. I had bought it back and replaced it with a FiiO X7 Mark II which is excellent either with headphones or connected via its optical output to my stereo.
