According to my research and the manufacturer's specifications, this printer does not use classic ink cartridges with liquid ink. It is a thermal transfer printer and the following ribbons and paper are available in combination:

The print kit contains both paper and ink (108 sheets of photo paper and a matching colour cartridge).
Helpful answer
With this printer, you can only get the cartridges with the paper, because the cartridges' lifespan is equivalent to the number of sheets included.
For example, for the RP-108 that are included, you get 108 sheets, so you should be able to print about 54 photos per cartridge (2 are included in the box).
