AVM FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber XGS-PON
AVM FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber XGS-PON
Thank you. I received the Fritzbox and to be on the safe side I first reset it to factory settings using the Recover Tool. It worked perfectly.
No, the cable is not supplied.
Unfortunately no
Hello Walcon... I pursued this very question over half a year ago... Short answer to your question: YES! But you need a lot of patience with the support and you have to be lucky to have the right person on the line. Just don't give up and keep drilling until the box works. My prerequisite was that I had the last mile from Swisscom, which Sunrise rented from Swisscom...in other words, the final registration went via the Swisscom Fiber activation page, to which Sunrise was finally able to give me the activation code. Good luck! 😊
I am with Swisscom, and have a a fixed IP address. If you have to establish a connection via DHCP, it is VLAN10. Otherwise it is VLAN 11 via PPPoE
I have the box running with Sunrise on port 1 (L1). It works without any problems. I had to set the MAC address and the VLAN ID. For SIP telephony you have to contact the Sunrise hotline and order the SIP access data. I was sent the access data via SMS. It also works like a charm.
Hello, I am also with green and the XGS PON was the right version for me
Hello Tobias it was included with my model, and it is also listed as an official accessory at AVM. https://ch.avm.de/produkte/fritzbox/fritzbox-5590-fiber-xgs-pon/ https://ch.avm.de/produkte/fritzbox/fritzbox-5590-fiber-xgs-pon/technische-daten/ And the scope of delivery also includes "1x FRITZ!SFP XGS-PON" :) The only thing you probably have to buy additionally is the fibre optic cable between the box and the glass connection (I also had to buy it from Digitec) https://ch.avm.de/service/wissensdatenbank/dok/FRITZ-Box-5590-Fiber/3713_FRITZ-Box-Welches-Glasfaserkabel-benotige-ich/ Greetings Stefan
yes, it works, even flawlessly ;) just needs to be set up correctly, so: there are several things to consider, speaking from experience, all options work 1. possibility - connect - log in - it works 2. possibility - connect - log in - internet - access data - internet provider sunrise - access type sunrise fibre l3 - now running 3rd possibility (if the way 1. & 2. does not work) - disconnect pc/laptop from the network - connect fritzbox to pc via lan - log in - system - backup - factory settings - load factory settings - disconnect fritzbox from pc - connect - do 1st or 2nd option - be happy
What is the benefit of operating a FRITZ!Box behind the SALT Fibre Box? On an existing provider router, the AVM FRITZ!Box 4060 makes the most sense. I use the 4060 behind the 5590 as a mesh extension for WLAN, LAN and telephony. But the fundamental question remains, what is the goal? Another box does not solve any problems that a SALT fibre connection entails: https://www.digitec.ch/de/brand/showdiscussion/synology-und-salt-fiber-box-21721
The FRITZ!Box 5590 Fibre is an officially (Swisscom) certified end device. Most providers do MAC binding, so the assumption is correct that you have to register with your provider to get Internet access. The data required for this can be found on the label on the FRITZ!Box and in the quick guide. With other providers in Switzerland, you get to an activation page when you change hardware (provider router > free router) and can activate this without a hotline call. I use a cheaper connection from SolNet and it works without any problems with the 5590.
I have two Sunrise subscriptions, with one the 5590 has been working for some time, with the second I'm still struggling, they have changed technology. The Sunrise support is pitiful, if you then mention the Fritzbox they immediately wash their hands of it!
No, I have ordered this connection cable for my 10 GB XGS-PON connection: Lightwin fibre optic cable (1 m) - select the length of the cable as required, of course.
Unfortunately, no photos will be taken during the allocation. Our refurb team has assessed the optical condition as "slight signs of use", so there will no longer be any protective films or similar on the device. If the condition differs from the assessment, you are welcome to contact our customer service and we will arrange a return for you.
Hi no does not work with Sunrise had tried everything.because I did not want the router from Sunrise because it is so huge I have cancelled.Sunrise has not agreed to anything.so I am now at www.green.ch and have the Fritzbox and am happy.
Well, that is a question of the connection technology. For XGS-PON connections, which are still very rare, yes. For other connections, it can serve as a router by plugging the modem into the blue port and configuring the box accordingly. However, the actual signal conversion (e.g. from VDSL or GPON) must then take place before the Fritz!Box.
Everything worked fine for me, did you follow the instructions from AVM https://ch.avm.de/service/fritzbox-laeuft-an-jedem-anschluss/fritzbox-am-swisscom-glasfaseranschluss-einrichten/? You have to register with Swisscom using the following Swisscom link: https://www2.swisscom.ch/splashpage/guest/app/adsl_registration
You might want to contact https://community.sunrise.ch/. If they can, they would also provide official support from Sunrise.
It is best to first ask whether Init7 works with AON (Active) or XGS (Passive) at your location. As I work in the telecommunications industry myself, I can only recommend that you do your research first, as these two technologies are not compatible with each other.
I only have problems with Sunrise. I have already spent several hours on the phone with Sunrise. Without success. Every time I call Sunrise, they tell me something different. The last Sunrise technician told me that there is no fibre router from FritzBox...even though I have one at home. The AMV hotline can't help either. They only refer to their knowledge database and say that every Internet provider can activate this box. This irritates me a bit because all I hear is that it doesn't work. Disappointing :(
