I would like to use the FritzBox 5590 instead of the Salt Fibre Box X6 with Salt, including 5 phone numbers and then send voice mail via Fritz!Box as email to my mobile. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you

Hello,

the FRITZ!Box 5590 can be adapted to AON and GPON fibre optic networks (fibre to the home, FTTH) with an SFP plug-in module and can therefore be used on almost all fibre optic connections in Europe and establish Internet connections of up to 1 Gbit/s (AON), 2.5 Gbit/s (GPON) or 10 Gbit/s (XGS-PON).

The FRITZ!Box 5590 is available in several product variants, which differ in the scope of delivery. In Germany, the FRITZ!Box is supplied with SFP modules for AON and GPON fibre optic connections. An XGS-PON module can be purchased from us for such fibre optic connections.

Your supplier can tell you which module you need.

The answering machine (several possible) of the FRITZ!Box 5590 Fibre can be set up so that recorded voice mails are sent to you by e-mail. These instructions in our knowledge database describe how to set this up:

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact our technical support team by e-mail. Please send us the character string "#6739975" to the e-mail address: fritzhilft(at)avm(dot)de .

Kind regards from Berlin

Yes, it is basically possible to use the FritzBox 5590 instead of the Salt Fiber Box X6 with Salt, including the use of 5 phone numbers and the sending of voice mail by e-mail to your mobile.
The FritzBox 5590 supports GPON fibre connections, but Salt often uses specific VLAN settings (VLAN ID 10 for Internet). Check the Salt documentation or contact support to see whether this configuration is necessary.
➔ In the FritzBox: Internet > Access data > VLAN ID 10 (if required).
VLAN configuration: If Salt specifies VLAN tagging (ID 10) for Internet access, this must be set correctly in the FritzBox.
SIP access data: Salt does not always provide SIP data for third-party routers. Request this explicitly, if necessary with reference to the Swisscom interoperability guidelines.

VoIP telephony:
Salt uses SIP trunking for VoIP. You need the SIP access data (user name, password, registrar/server) for your phone numbers. You must request these from Salt (if necessary via a support ticket).

Configure voicemail:
Activate the voicemail function in the FritzBox under Telephony > Answering machine. Create a central mailbox for all phone numbers or separate mailboxes for each number.

3. send voice mail to your mobile by e-mail
Activate e-mail notification:
In the FritzBox, go to Telephony > Answering machine > [Your mailbox] > Notification.
➔ Activate "Notify me when a new voice message arrives".
➔ Enter your mobile e-mail address (e.g. +49123...@mail2sms.de or an app-based e-mail such as Gmail).

Configure the email server:
Under System > Sending emails, you must enter the SMTP data of your email supplier (e.g. SMTP from Gmail: smtp.gmail.com, port 587 with TLS).
➔ For 2-factor authentication (e.g. Gmail), you need an app password.
