Is an RTX3080 10GB scarce here? High FPS are secondary for me, the important thing is that it runs smoothly. Currently 34" 1440P and throttled to 60hz to keep temps lower and the volume down. What I like to do is to set the settings in games to the highest/second-highest level, e.g. individual medium points, shadows, fog and hair Dlss activated if this is available. If the 3080 can't handle this I would go for the alternative in 49" with 3480x1080p from Asus. However, a little concerned about resolution.

It should work. My working laptop, HP G9 with a Ryzen 7 connected via usb c is able to reach max res @ 165hz. My MacBook Pro from 2019 is limited in res and frequency.

Is the Smart KVM function Mac compatible? The idea is to use 1x Windows and 1x Mac. On their support site I can only find software to download for Windows, and software is needed to manage the 'switching' from one computer to another (kvm).

I use the monitor with a Windows and a Mac laptop. Both the mouseover function to the other PC and the exchange of copy/paste of text and/or files work without any problems. As soon as the monitor is connected, a USB disk is mounted that contains both an .exe for the Windows PC and a Mac application. As soon as both applications are running (either via allowed autostart or by manual start) the SmartKVM functionality works without any problems. Otherwise, it is also possible to switch between the devices manually via the on-screen menu.
