is this PCIex8 usable on a PCIeX16 slot AND is this device with GDDR3 memory really better than one with DDR3 (GDDR3 being based on DDR2 memory)

1. yes it is. 2. DDR3 is a user replaceable part (RAM modules), GDDR3 refers to memory which is used for graphics cards.

@Digitec: Does this come with a low-profile aperture or not? According to the evaluation by "Heiko.Schultze", this was missing, although the description says "Low-Profile".

Addendum, as I cannot edit my question: This is not in the description but in the filter (if you filter for "Low-Profile" and "HDMI" as connection").

Does this Gragik card also work for notebooks ?

I don't think so! notebooks (mostly) don't have room for such graphics cards! most notebooks have the chips on the mainboard as a graphics card. if you tell us which notebook you want to install it in, I can tell you with 100% certainty whether it works.
