Yes, I have already tried it myself. It's more a question of software than hardware anyway. I assume CD-Text means that appropriate CD players can display titles etc., not LightScribe (burning with pattern on the blank).
Yes, the drive can not only read but also write BD-R XL media (BDXL). It supports the writing of BD-R QL (Quad Layer) and BD-R TL (Triple Layer) media, which are BDXL formats, with write speeds of up to 6x and 8x respectively. The maximum storage capacity of a BDXL disc is up to 128 GB and the drive is explicitly equipped with BDXL support.
Do I understand correctly that you want to use the drive externally, so to speak?
If so, one option would be to use an adapter like this
Aplic USB 3.0 to SATA III converter
Alternatively, you could use the drive permanently externally with an enclosure like this (I did it myself with my drive)
Icy Box ICY BOX External Enclosure for 1x 5.25" SATA drive, IB-525-U3 (5.25")
There are of course cheaper options for both variants.
The part also runs perfectly under Windows 10 (at least as a player, I haven't tested it as a burner yet). Install it, connect it and everything works.
