Question about ASUS Bw-16d1ht/G

I bought the BluRay Portable Writer from Samsung years ago, which simply no longer plays BDs, but only DVDs and CDs. The service at Samsung was not helpful at all, they had referred me to another company, which in the end cost a lot of time but offered no solution. I then came across a forum where the same problem was being discussed and it was mentioned that Samsung no longer provides firmware updates for the Writer. Which Samsung Support Service did not mention at all. Why am I elaborating on this? I don't want to make the same mistake again so I am asking what the situation is now with this machine in terms of updates, drivers and compatibility with Windows systems.

Helpful answer
The part also runs perfectly under Windows 10 (at least as a player, I haven't tested it as a burner yet). Install it, connect it and everything works.

Good day. I have WIN7 Pro. Installed the burner, connected it, it was recognised immediately. I have 2 and it is used a lot. Runs flawlessly and never had a problem.
