The Ultra SmartHub (VMB5000-100EUS) is compatible with Arlo Pro 5S cameras and supports multiple Arlo camera models including Pro, Pro2, Pro3, Pro4, Pro5, Ultra, and Ultra2. It provides wired and wireless connectivity with dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and Ethernet LAN. Regarding the comparison between Arlo hubs, the Ultra SmartHub (VMB5000) differs from other hubs like the VMB4540 mainly in Wi-Fi capabilities: the Ultra SmartHub supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, while the VMB4540 supports only 2.4 GHz. This can affect range and interference handling. The Ultra SmartHub also supports 4K streaming with compatible cameras and local storage via microSD cards. For microSD card compatibility, the Ultra SmartHub supports microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC cards up to UHS-3 V90 class 10. The maximum size is not explicitly stated, but microSDXC cards typically support up to 1 TB, which is generally compatible with such devices. Using a high-speed UHS-3 V90 class 10 card is recommended for smooth 4K video recording and storage. In summary: - The Ultra SmartHub is the correct hub for Arlo Pro 5S cameras. - It supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and local microSD storage. - Compared to other hubs, it offers better Wi-Fi performance and 4K streaming. - Use microSD/microSDHC/microSDXC cards, preferably UHS-3 V90 class 10, with sizes up to at least 1 TB.

Hi, when you buy the Smart Hub, you have the option of saving all videos on the Smart Hub and also deleting them. When the Smart Hub is full, it deletes the oldest videos again. I hope this has helped you. LG Toni

Hello fox A bit of a weak point of Arlo (SONOS music boxes are better networked there...) For outdoor cameras, I have placed a wireless MESH WLAN router as close as possible indoors (wall with 3-fold insulation) The Arlo outdoor camera has a distance of approx. one metre In this configuration, the outdoor camera has 2 points on the live image circuit Hope this helps you

Hello, the Smarthub must be connected to the LAN cable that is in the same WLAN network as the camera. It is important that the camera has a good connection in the WLAN. Then the distance between the camera and SmartHub does not play a great role, just be in the network. I hope to have served you. I also have questions about the handling of the Arlo products. LG Toni

Yes, it should work. Here is the full compatibility list: https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/Arlo-SmartHub-and-Base-Station-Compatibility. The price surcharge on the plan has been quite a foolish move. That's why we went for the base as well. At least you have that option and you're not forced to get the plan. Yes, you can watch the videos via the app. There are also push messages when motion is detected. However, recorded videos cannot be watched directly (no preview), but are first downloaded to the mobile when clicked. What still works is the direct connection to the camera via app (live image). Positive side effect of the hub: noticeably better WiFi connection to the cameras than before via home WiFi.

Hello, I also had problems with my Arlo Pro/hub and my sync with homekit. I advise you to contact Arlo support they have a line available in French. The process was a bit long etc but the arlo team were very helpful, pleasant and managed to connect me. I went through email and phone calls with them

Hello Yes and no. It depends on how long you want to save recordings and how high the resolution should be. I recommend that you take out a subscription. If something happens, you are on the safe side.
