No, it works without it. Especially useful if you travel a lot in hotels. And most TVs have a USB output near the HDMI. That's how I get power when I need it.

The format of the video type has no influence on the video copy to the TV!
If the iPad can play the video, it will be reproduced on the TV screen.
The quality will never exceed 1080p, which is the adapter's maximum resolution!
The iPad's support for AAC formats for audio should enable 5.1
It's important to understand that the iPad is not a source for the TV!
It's a copy of the image processing done by the iPad's components!
It works fine for me with the iPad and the iPhone.

Lossless is not, but Dolby Atmos is supported via HDMI.
Unfortunately, I can't answer this question because I only use the adapter to display content from the iPhone on my TV.

With this adapter you mirror your Ipad 1:1, so it should work.
no, unfortunately, this is only possible with Apple tv and the iPad.
No, this is a lightning connector and you need a USB-C connection. There are a lot of options for you including hubs with slots for memory cards, etc, but a simple alternative for just HDMI would be i-tec USB-C to (HDMI, 15cm)

Yes, but you still need the Lightning cable.
The iPad Pro 2018 has a USB-C port and to connect the iPad Pro to the TV you need the following adapter: Apple USB-C to (HDMI, USB 3.1, USB-C, 7cm) :)

Hi Fabian, I don't use these apps, but I'm pretty sure that it works, because with this adapter, what you have on the iPad is simply sent to the TV - both picture and sound... Kind regards Marcel

To set up an extended desktop:
Connect your additional display and turn it on.
From the Apple () menu, select System Preferences.
Select "Monitors".
Click on the "Arrange" tab.
Make sure that the option "Synchronise screens" is deactivated.
