Prusa XL Textured powder-coated sheet steel

The heated bed features embedded magnets with a high Curie temperature. These magnets are capable of securely holding removable spring steel plates. The powder coating directly on the metal makes it very difficult to damage this print platform. If a heated nozzle comes into contact with it, the metal can dissipate the heat. Additionally, the powder coating gives the surface a distinctly textured appearance that will be visible on your prints. The textured surface conceals most mechanical damage caused by tools. Only the tops of the small bumps may get scratched, which will not affect the underside of the model. This surface is used in our printer farm. Warning: Never clean the textured PEI powder-coated spring steel sheet with acetone! This will create micro-cracks in the PEI texture, leading to deterioration of the surface over time.
